Building a Stronger Performing Arts Community in Northern Idaho
We believe the health of a community is reflected in the health of its arts scene.
A thriving arts community doesn't happen by accident. It takes artists, audiences, volunteers, donors, organizations, and people willing to build something for the future.
Gloria Arts Project exists to promote, support, and strengthen the performing arts in Northern Idaho, particularly in Bonner and Boundary Counties. We want to make it easier for artists and arts organizations to create excellent work, and easier for our community to experience it.
A HOME FOR THE PERFORMING ARTS
We're Working to Bring a New Performing Arts Venue to Northern Idaho
One of the most important ways we hope to serve our community is by creating a new performing arts venue designed specifically with local artists and presenters in mind.
Theatre, dance, music, and other performing arts are already flourishing in Northern Idaho. But too often, local artists are limited by the spaces available to them. Stages are too small. Rehearsal space is difficult to find. Acoustics aren't designed for music. Rental costs can be prohibitive. Ticketing is often rigid and out of the presenter’s control. Production requirements don't always fit the facilities we have.
We believe we can do better.
We envision a venue that is accessible, flexible, and an affordable home for the performing arts. A place where local theatre companies can mount ambitious productions, dancers can have the space they need, musicians can perform in a room designed to sound good, and independent artists can bring their ideas to life.
The venue is not the mission. It's a tool for accomplishing the mission.

SUPPORTING THE PEOPLE WHO MAKE ART
Good Art Needs More Than a Stage
A healthy arts community depends on more than buildings. It depends on people.
Gloria Arts Project supports independent artists and arts organizations through fiscal sponsorship, fundraising support, grant opportunities, and other resources that help creative projects get off the ground.
Through our fiscal sponsorship program, eligible projects can raise charitable contributions through Gloria Arts Project and pursue grant opportunities that may otherwise be unavailable to them.
We provide the charitable and administrative structure. The artists provide the vision.
As Gloria Arts Project grows, we hope to expand the ways we can support local creatives through grants, performances, educational opportunities, workshops, and other programs that strengthen the performing arts in our region.

Why We Do This
Gloria Arts Project is guided by the Christian belief that human creativity is an expression of being made in the image of God, the Creator.
We believe art has the capacity to reveal beauty, tell meaningful stories, cultivate empathy, invite conversation, and bring people together.
Our Christian faith shapes why we do this work. It informs how we think about creativity, stewardship, service, excellence, and community.
We believe creating is a gift.
And we believe helping people create is God glorifying work
